Welcome

Featured

Well I am hoping that we can have a lot of fun with this website, and most of all, encourage a little more practice, inspiration, and learn something from each other.  The idea here is to make a point of getting off the procrastination train and get out there and get some shooting done.  I stress over and over in my courses and websites that you have to practice to get better, and yet here I sit day after day working and writing courses, while my camera sits in it’s bag beside me.

So with that, I want to challenge everyone of you, visitors, family, friends, and everyone of my students to make a commitment to this site, join in, and lets inspire each other with a simple weekly assignment, without judges, or competition.  Just simple photography and conversation.

If you are new to this site, go through the links at the top of the page, everything is explained for you here, then when you are ready jump in, introduce yourself, and start shooting.

NOTE:  When posting your assignments, try to remember to assign it to the right Category.

It will just help keep things neat and make viewing your photos later a lot easier.

If you are interested in learning more about photography, take a look at my Learning site, if you would like some additional reading or want to find out more about me, you can visit my main site:  R. McPhee Photography

Photo Contests

Hello everyone,
I’ve entered a few of my images to a photo contest. This contest tally’s the “Likes” that an image receives, then is brought to a panel of Judges to determine the winner of the contest. I’ve posted 3 images named: “Lil Cutie”, “Young & Old” and “Got pollen?”

I’ve attached a copy of the 3 images I posted to make sorting through them easier for you all!

All you need to do is access the site below, and click the little heart icon below the image.
The site is: http://www.photoswinprizes.com/
I appreciate every click you place on my images!

A photoshop rendering of my neighbourhood in winter.  I think the whole ‘tiny planet’ thing is pretty well-known at this point, but if anyone isn’t familiar with it, and would like to know what I did to create this, just ask. ;)

It’s Monday, and time for a new assignment

Hello folks. I know, it’s Monday… Gotta get up and go face those Monday blues, hope the boss doesn’t ride you too much and just get the day done… Bla-bla-bla…. But now, you have a new assignment to consider, your day just got brighter!

Our new assignment: Long Exposure

If anyone is not sure on how to do this, just ask… I’ll do my best to explain it!
